 About Us

The Scottish European Educational Trust (SEET) is an independent, non-political charity committed to promoting international education, skills development and language learning amongst children and young people in Scotland. This is delivered through a programme of exciting projects which are designed to maximise skills development and encourage participants to realise their full potential.

In a rapidly changing world, Scotland’s young people need to be equipped with the full range of skills to build productive relationships, to communicate effectively and to engage with Europe and the wider world. SEET has a strong track record in creating opportunities for primary and secondary school pupils across Scotland to build the skills, knowledge and confidence to look outward and to engage with other cultures.

You can access our annual Impact Report to read about the impact our projects are having on young people in Scotland.

SEET is fully committed to creating an inclusive environment for all project participants, volunteers, employees, Trustees, and partners.  Click on the link to read SEET’s Inclusion Statement.

Our current activities include:

A national Euroquiz project for primary school pupils

Our World - a national film making project for secondary school pupils

SEET unequivocally supports the UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Bill, passed in Parliament in March 2021. Of particular importance to SEET and its work is Article 30 which states that a child belonging to “ethnic, religious, or linguistic minorities or persons of indigenous origin… shall not be denied the right, in community with other members of his or her group, to enjoy his or her own culture, to profess and practise his or her own religion or to use his or her own language”.
